The Hi’s Eye Staff offers condolences to the families who lost loved ones in the 9/11 attacks, and recognizes the importance of honoring the brave men and women who lost their lives 10 years ago.

Scotch Plains
The Township of Scotch Plains will dedicate a newly built monument, which was constructed with steel from the World Trade Center, to victims and survivors of 9/11. The monument’s dedication will include performances by several choirs and a candlelit memorial at the Village Green on Sept. 11 at 6 p.m.
Cranford
A remembrance service will be held at WTC Park on Sept.11 at 4 p.m. The service will include an unveiling of steel recovered from the World Trade Center.
Mountainside
A commemoration ceremony will take place at the Union County September 11 Memorial in Echo Lake Park on Sept. 11 at 1 p.m. The New York Blood Center will conduct a 9/11 Memorial Blood Drive from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. In order to honor the 343 firefighters who gave their lives 10 years ago, 343 flags will be on display from Sept. 9 through 12.
Garwood
The Garwood 9/11 Memorial Service will be held in the Garwood Municipal Building on Sept.11 at 6 p.m.
Clark
A remembrance ceremony will be held at James Nelson Memorial Park on Sept. 11 at 9:15 a.m.
