Featured on one episode of TLC’s My Strange Addiction, 27 year- old Josh is always on the prowl for some glass to snack on; he is obsessed. Although not as extreme (or dangerous), WHS students showcase some bizarre quirks and rituals that others cannot seem to fathom.
For junior Grace Antonelli, finishing a tube of ChapStick every week is not uncommon. According to Antonelli, after getting badly sunburned, she became addicted to ChapStick, and continues to rely on it to this day. “This led to me using ChapStick once about every 20 minutes for the duration of the summer,” said Antonelli.
Every one loves shoes, but junior Alex Bond claims he is the ultimate “sneakerhead.” “[The obsession] came about in fifth grade when my friends got me Air Force One’s,” said Bond. According to Bond, he owns at least 23 pairs of sneakers; “my favorite pair is my 1999 Black Cement Air Jordan IV’s.”
Donna, the beloved doll of sophomore Rachel Hertzberg, was a gift from Hertzberg’s aunt when she was born. “I can’t sleep without her, so I bring her with me wherever I go,” said Hertzberg. She also felt it was necessary for Donna to have a Facebook. “To me she’s more than just a doll, so I decided she needed a Facebook.”
