Royal wedding preview

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry on Christmas Day 2017.

Royal fans, rejoice! The long awaited marriage of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will take place tomorrow at Windsor Castle. Thousands of people will line the streets, waiting for their arrival.

Although Prince Harry gained notoriety as the rebellious royal, at 33 he has emerged from his partying days as a well-revered member of the Royal Family. Across the pond, biracial divorcée Meghan Markle, 36, was an aspiring actress until she finally landed the main role on the series Suits.

The couple has made headlines for being nontraditional. Even the way they met was unconventional: They were set up on a blind date by a mutual friend, and they only dated for about a year and a half before Harry proposed.

Markle and Harry kept a low profile early in their relationship, seeing each other every two weeks and even taking a spontaneous trip to Botswana. To keep his mother’s memory alive, Harry designed Markle’s engagement ring to feature a diamond from Botswana, along with two side stones from his late mother’s jewelry collection.

Although being an actress has made Markle accustomed to the spotlight, she has had to adjust her lifestyle in order to comply with the expectations of a royal family member. For example, Markle was written off Suits and had to relinquish all forms of social media, including her lifestyle blog.

Markle has undergone a style revolution, trading California-chic for royal elegance. However, Markle has stayed true to herself, challenging royal protocol by sporting a messy bun and even skipping stockings.

The top designer for Markle’s church dress is the British brand Ralph & Russo, rumored to cost about $135,000. Straying away from the traditional fruit cake, the couple selected a lemon and elderflower cake, according to Food Network.

Rather than having a weekday wedding, the couple has uniquely opted for a Saturday, and 2,640 members of the public will attend. It will be a family affair, with Prince William as Harry’s best man, and Prince George and Princess Charlotte taking part as well.
