Fresh faces: meet the class of 2023
While the 2019 school year comes to a close, students are preparing for a well-deserved summer break. Many seniors will be excited to pack for college; however, they may also feel some unavoidable nerves. Similarly, feelings of uncertainty and excitement are also felt by current eighth-graders who are anticipating changes in the fall. Hi’s Eye staff interviewed incoming freshmen who shared their hopes and fears about attending WHS next year.
“I am excited [for high school] because it is a new environment with many different opportunities, but I am also excited because I get to go to school with some of my Edison friends. These are the years where we meet many people that will stay in our lives for a very long time or teach us lessons. I am expecting a lot more independence which is something I am excited for, as well as many more creative experiences through art or music. I hope [for] many new memories…, specifically ones that will add to my understanding of things, whether that be becoming more insightful or learning more academically.” -Katherine Winters
