WHS student gives back
WHS’ custodians go above and beyond to ensure that the school is in the best shape it can be. Mario Arana, one of WHS’ beloved custodians, is in need of a ramp for his wheelchair-bound daughter. After becoming close with junior Douglas Manning during his freshman year, Arana shared his family’s story with him, explaining how he is unable to afford the wheelcahir ramp. Manning created a GoFundMe page with a posted goal of $5,000. Due to the generosity of the community, the page has raised almost $7,000 at press time. Manning says that Arana has “helped us through hard times when we can’t share our troubles with our parents. He always has our back.” It is now our turn to give back and donate to help his daughter receive the equipment she needs.
