WHS remembers Richard Perez
After recently being admitted to the ICU, Richard Perez (pictured right with his co-workers), a night shift custodian at WHS, passed away last week due to complications from COVID-19. Perez was a custodian, but he was also a husband and a father. This is a devastating loss for the WHS community and Hi’s Eye was deeply saddened to hear this news. We choose to remember Perez for the incredible man that he was, and will continue to spread his positivity through the halls of WHS. “He was always willing to help his colleagues and the teachers and students of Westfield High School,” said Principal Mary Asfendis. “I will always remember his pride and joy when he would share stories about his beloved daughter.” There is currently a GoFundMe to help support Perez’s family through this difficult time.
