How to have the best relationships, according to Disney

Let’s be honest: our generation sucks at relationships. We’re always on and off, bad at commitment or extremely toxic. It’s about time us teenagers learn how to have real relationships that last long and are super healthy. And, there’s really only one place to turn to for advice on how to have the best relationships: Disney. Here’s what the most popular Disney movies teach us about how to have the healthiest relationships.

The Little Mermaid

In The Little Mermaid, Princess Ariel falls in love with Prince Eric. However, Eric walks on land and Ariel is, of course, a mermaid. In turn, Ariel goes to see Ursula, the sea witch, and trades her voice for legs in order to be with him. Then, they live happily ever after and have a super healthy relationship.

The advice: A girl should always give up important things, like their voice, to be with a guy so they can have the best relationship ever. Pretty easy if you ask me.

Snow White

In Snow White, the princess Snow White is killed by a poisonous apple given to her by her stepmother. She was 14 years old at the time. She is put in a beautiful casket by the dwarfs she lives with and left in the forest. A neighboring prince comes by on his horse. His name is Prince Florian and he is 31 years old. Upon noticing Snow White, he kisses her and wakes her up. The two then get married and live happily ever after.

The advice: Girls, always date much, much older guys to have the longest-lasting relationships. Guys, go for the youngest girl you can find.

Sleeping Beauty

In Sleeping Beauty, Princess Aurora is cursed by Maleficent and falls into a deep sleep after being pricked by a needle. She has been asleep for years. Prince Philip finds her asleep and wakes her with a true love’s kiss. How beautiful and sweet! Then, they get married and live happily ever after.

The advice: It is always okay to kiss a girl without her consent. Bonus points if she’s been sleeping for years and has no idea who you are.

Beauty and the Beast

In Beauty and the Beast, Belle is captured by the Beast, later revealed as Prince Adam, and held as a prisoner for the entirety of the movie. Adam has been cursed to remain a beast until a girl falls in love with him. Belle does eventually fall for Adam and the curse is removed. The two get married and live happily ever after.

The advice: To get a girl to fall in love with you and really find true love, kidnap her. She’ll catch feelings, I promise.

If you really watch any Disney movie, they all give great advice on relationships. Those princes and princesses know best, so follow their lead. They understand love better than our generation. Because, after all, they all lived happily ever after.
