Chasing the American Dream
The planning and construction of the American Dream Mall, located in East Rutherford across from MetLife Stadium, is finally complete following an arduous 16-year process. After a series of bankruptcies, ownership changes, construction delays and legal challenges, the widely awaited mega-mall finally opened its doors on Oct. 25.
A few weeks following the grand opening, Hi’s Eye staff members Kathryn Bartlett, Annabella Cerria, Emily Greenzang and Colm Slevin headed to East Rutherford to experience the mall, specifically the Nickelodeon Universe amusement park and ice skating rink which are two exhibits currently open. The rest of the attractions, including a DreamWorks Animation-themed water park, indoor ski slope and over 450 retail stores are scheduled to open later this year.
