And the commercials win again

Over the past 52 years, Super Bowl Sunday has become more than just a football game. It has become the ultimate advertising zone.
We all remember the classic Betty White appearance in the 2010 Snickers commercial and the unforgettable Budweiser puppies of 2015, so what was the focus of 2018?
According to nielsen.com, about 103.4 million people viewed the Super Bowl on Sunday. Major companies seek to advertise during the Super Bowl because of the millions of people who are tuned in to this game.
Super Bowl commercial space is in such high demand that, according to Business Insider,  it cost $5 million for just 30 seconds of space. Companies invested this money to create a commercial that will leave people talking.
Online shopping franchise Amazon succeeded in best celebrity appearance for its use of Cardi B and Rebel Wilson to replace the voice of the iconic personal-assistant product, Alexa. The device has a recognizable voice, so when the company added the hilarious twist of Alexa being out sick, it opened up room for celebrities to add their own “Alexa” responses.
Not all companies chose to use celebrities to display their messages. To no surprise, the award for most heartfelt commercial of 2018 goes to Budweiser. The company showcased its efforts in 2017 to help disaster victims by following one employee as he wakes up early to go to work and help produce cans of water for those in need.
Parent companies such as PepsiCo or Procter & Gamble aren’t advertising for new products, as Doritos and Tide have been around for so long. These companies are adding to their products’ tradition and are giving society another reason to talk about them through their memorable commercials. Other companies try to promote something new, from Monster headphones (2018) to Macintosh computers (1984).
As for this year’s best commercial: That would be M&M’s. The commercial introduced Danny DeVito as an M&M-turned-human who is asking people if they want to eat him. It put a hilarious twist on the familiar M&M commercials and makes us all eager for next year’s commercials during Super Bowl LIII.
