Super Bowl LIV

On Feb. 2, the highest-viewed television event will take place: the Super Bowl. The 54th Super Bowl will be between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers. The game will take place at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, FL and will air on FOX at 6:30 p.m.

The Chiefs, who went 12–4 in the regular season, just capped off an 8-game winning streak by defeating the Tennessee Titans in the AFC Conference Championship. They are led by the 2018 MVP Patrick Mahomes, star wide receiver Tyreek Hill and all-pro safety Tryann Mathieu.

The 49ers went 13-3 in the regular season and recently destroyed former Super Bowl MVP Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Conference Championship. They are led by one of the best defenses in the league featuring former Super Bowl winner Richard Sherman and rookie edge rusher Nick Bosa. They have been carried by their rushing this postseason with their halfback, Raheem Mostert, who has made a career revival in this postseason, rushing for 220 yards in the Conference Championship.

This matchup will be an interesting one, as on one side the Chiefs have dominated with their offense, and on the flip side, the 49ers have controlled games through their defense. The Chiefs will be focused on stopping the 49ers’ running game while the 49ers will attempt to pressure Mahomes similarly to how they handled Rodgers in the Conference Championship.
